Search and rules
Searching
Press ⌘F (Ctrl+F on Windows and Linux) to open the search bar.
Typing filters the log to matching lines as you type, and highlights the match inside each line. Clear the box to see everything again.
Click Regex to switch from substring matching to a regular expression.
Search works on live sessions and on saved ones you have reopened. Filtering does not delete anything — the full log is still on disk and still in the buffer.
Highlight rules
Highlight rules colour whole lines that match a pattern, so that errors, warnings, or handshake messages stand out while you are watching rather than when you go back through the log afterwards.
Open them with the Rules button in the pane header. Rules apply to the session you are viewing, including reopened historical ones.
Requires Pro.
Variable extraction
Variable extraction pulls a named value out of each matching line — a temperature, an RSSI, a state name — and shows its current value above the log, updating as new lines arrive.
This is useful when one number in a noisy stream is the thing you actually care about.
Set it up in the same Rules panel.
